Calling the BJP a “Chalu Party” (cunning party), Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said it was trying to confuse voters by raising non-existent issues like ‘love jehad’ so that it can divide society on religious lines.

“During the General elections, the party leaders misled voters by raising slogans like ‘Achche Din Aane Wale hai’, but it never came. Now, the party has raised controversial issue of ‘love Jehad’,’’ he said while addressing an election meeting in Mainpuri on Wednesday.

Tej Pratap Singh, is SP  candidate from the Mainpuri lok Sabha seat which is vacated by party president Mulayam Singh Yadav. CM questioned steps taken by the BJP Government to control price rise, protect international borders or provide jobs to the youth. “Have they done anythingIJ’’ he asked the people, to which they replied “No”

“Now BJP’s only effort is to divide the country on the name of religion and caste. But Samajwadi Party would never allow the BJP leaders to do so,’’ he said. Attacking BJP MP Yogi Adityanath without taking his name, Yadav said it was only Mulayam Singh Yadav who took stringent action against him after which the Yogi wept in the lok Sabha.
