Rajnath: Would also not spare UPA regime’s corruption
BJP national president Rajnath Singh on Wednesday said his party, if voted to power, would take all steps to probe into the misdeeds of both the BJD Government in Odisha and the UPA Government at the Centre.
“The BJD Government in Odisha and Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre have committed blatant corruptions and turned inefficient. If voted to power, the BJP would undertake probe into their all omissions and commissions and ensure that all who are involved in corruption and scams get punished,” Singh said.
Singh who addressed three election meetings in western Odisha in favour of party candidates at Kotpad in Nabarangpur, Bhawanipatna Phulbani and Brahmapur said the country had seen flood of corruption during the successive Congress regimes. The Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre has created record in corruption during the last ten years, he said.
People of the country witness wrath of inflation whenever Congress comes to power. Its 55 years of rule since Independence has proved to be disastrous, Singh said.
Alleging that corruptions and scams to the tune of ` 5.50 lakh crore occurred during the last ten years of UPA regime alone, Singh said that a small portion of the scam money could have made Odisha a developed State.
Dubbing the UPA Government as ‘extremely weak’, Rajnath lamented that Pakistan Army is intruding into the country’s territory and killing its soldiers and China was staking claim over Indian territory as well.
BJP will restore the country’s pride and dignity by giving a befitting reply to those challenging its sovereignty and make it a super power, if voted to power, Singh said.
Referring the achievements during the Atal Behari Vajpayee’s regime at the Centre, the BJP president said it was during his period prices were kept under control and there were no instances of corruption.
Taking on Naveen Patnaik-led BJD Government in the State, Singh said the 14-year misrule by BJD had hit the State hard and it would have developed and prospered had the huge volume of money involved in corruption been spent for its progress. “People are bound to suffer when rulers become corrupt,” he pointed out.
