After the success of Parivarthana Yatra, the BJP is launching another yatra called ‘Protect  Bengaluru’ from Friday in the poll-bound Karnataka. This is a new strategy adopted by the saffron party to counter the congress in the metropolis Bengaluru which is crucial for the party.  Bengaluru has 28 constituencies and BJP is leaving no stone un turned to make the Congress mukt Karnataka.

Addressing a press conference in Bengaluru on Thursday Union Minister Prakash Javdekar, who is also in-charge of Karnataka for the party said that the Yatra will be held for 14 days in all the 28 Assembly constituencies in this Silicon city to create awareness among the public and also to  protest against failures of the ruling Congress during its five years rule.

“Arrogance of power has led to collapse of law and order in the city which was earlier a peaceful city.  Crimes including Murder, rape, atrocities, rape on women are increasing day by day after Congress came to power.  Corruption is  rampant,” Javdekar alleged.

He also said  Siddaramaiah government has failed to utilise funds sent for Central Government schemes, and  alleged that the money released under ‘Swatcha Bharat’ , ‘Smart City’ etc., were not utilised .

The only achievement of the Congress government has converted Bengaluru City into a ‘garbage City’.  A beautiful city was turned into a ‘Pot hole City’.

The Union Minister alleged that honest officers were harassed by transferring and punishing them.  Police officers were attacked by goondas while they were discharging their duties.

“This shows that goondas and rowdies have gained upper hand and  law and order has totally failed under the present government” he added.

He also released a charge sheet against the Siddaramaiah led Congress Government in the State.

The chargesheet is all about failures of this government in the City. The charge sheet is in abook let form called lekka Kodi in Kannada meaning ‘give account to Bengalurirans’.

Meanwhile Chief Minister Siddaramaiah Comparing Karnataka with the rest of India in general and Gujarat in particular on different parameters, said that the State had emerged as a role model to other States by achieving remarkable development and transparent governance in the current term of the Congress governance.

He said  “When we [Congress] came to power in 2013, Karnataka was at the 11th position, with Gujarat at the top, in terms of attracting investments. Now, Karnataka has risen to occupy the first place with an annual investment of Rs. 1.5 lakh crore as compared to Gujarat’s Rs. 40,000 crore. It is because of our development, infrastructure and transparency in governance that we became the most-preferred investment destination in the country”.

“We are the leading State in terms of silk production, Information Technology and Bio-Technology [outputs]. Our public transport system was well recognised and appreciated with 207 national and international awards. Karnataka’s GDP [Gross Domestic Product] growth is impressive at 8.5% as compared to national average of 7.1%. Household electrification has crossed 98% in Karnataka as compared to national average of just 88%. We are the only State in the country to give 7 kg rice free of cost to 3.85 crore people every month. Gujarat is nowhere near us in terms of development and it is Karnataka that has become a role model to others,” he said. Eom/blr
