The State unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party has drawn up an elaborate poll campaign for the Assembly polls next year with the outfit announcing to launch four Parivartan Yatras from November 5.
The yatra will culminate in lucknow on the eve of the 92nd birthday of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on December 24. On the occasion, a Parivartan Sabha will be organised which will be addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The party has also decided to hold yuva, mahila and backward sammelans in all 403 Assembly segments of the State. Besides, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sichai Yojna in Jhansi on October 24.
Announcing the programmes in lucknow, state BJP chief Keshav Prasad Maurya told reporters that four yatras would commence from different parts of the State on November 5 and end in lucknow on the eve of 92nd birthday of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee on December 24. A Parivartan Sabha will be addressed by the Prime Minister the same day.
"The first Parivartan yatra will start from Saharanpur on November 5, the second from lalitpur in Bundelkhand on November 6, the third from Sonebhadra on November 8 and the last from Ballia on November 9. All four yatras will be launched in the presence of party chief Amit Shah and other senior leaders," Maurya said.
"The four yatras will cover all 403 Assembly segments with slogans like 'Singhasan Khali Karo Akhilesh Yadav' and will highight the prevailing anarchy and misrule. The BJP will showcase 'sushasan' and 'vikas' as the main agenda of the party in the elections," he added.
The BJP president said the party would also hold yuva sammelans in all Assembly segments to make at least 10 youths as booth members in each of the 1.45 lakh polling booths. Besides, the party will also organise mahila and backward sammelans. "The party has decided to enroll at least five women as booth members in each booth of the state," he added.
Maurya said that the party was committed for the construction of a grand Ram temple at Ayodhya, but it is not a poll issue. "We will wait for the Supreme Court's ruling in the matter," he clarified.
When referred to survey which claimed that the BJP would emerge as the largest party but will fall short of majority in the UP polls, Maurya said that the poll survey had predicted 100 seats less than what the party was expecting in the polls.
The BJP has already claimed that it will win 264 plus seats in the UP polls for the 403-member Assembly.
