BJP President Amit Shah has decided to maintain a centralised email against the alleged “forced occupation of land of dalits” by SP-backed Yadavs or Ahirs and “initiate action” to have them vacated by the party workers.
As of now the instances of “illegal occupation of land” in villages would be collated in the party’s district and regional e-mails and facts will be ascertain before moving to the next step of building movement against unauthorised seizures of land by castes mostly identified as SP voters.
Addressing booth level workers at Rs Brij Kshetra Sammelan’ at Kasganj in the State Tuesday, Shah accused political rivals SP and BSP of being hand-in-glove in oppressing dalits and using them as an instrument of their “power politics.” He alleged police stations under SP’s rule refuse to register cases against the dalit oppressors.
“ Cases are registered on the basis of castes and not on merit”, he said adding “even complaints are not taken in”.
The BJP Chief said once cases of illegal occupation of land owned by dalits are brought to party’s notice through e-mails, the party workers would launch “ a mass movement” and pressurize the Akhilesh Yadav Government to have the lands vacated. “ We will think of coming to power in UP at a later stage, first we would ensure justice for dalits”, he claimed.
BJP is trying hard to rope in dalit voters in the poll-bound UP and making a case not only against SP but BSP for not backing them in time of their need. “ No SP worker accused of atrocities against dalit is jailed during BSP’s rule and vice-versa,” said Saha, who recently had food with a dalit family as a mark of party’s identification with the dalit icon B R Ambedkar.
