BJP to be blamed for inflated water bills, says Mukesh

Former MlA and Delhi Congress spokesperson Mukesh Sharma on Sunday announced that they would not pay the inflated water bills to Delhi Jal Board and blamed the   BJP Government at Centre.

Addressing a rally in Mohan Garden, Sharma further alleged that people of unauthorised and resettlement colonies were being forced to increase their load capacity, thereby collecting `1,000 crore.

According to Sharma, this collection should be probed, and the guilty punished. Delhi Congress has decided to hold ‘pardafash rally’, in all 70 constituencies, to take on the BJP and AAP ahead of the upcoming elections in the national Capital.

Former MP Sajjan Kumar also addressed the rally, said that the recent seven per cent power tariff hike was hurriedly withdrawn due to the strong protest by the Congress party, but now moves are again afoot to increase the power tariff by 14 per cent after the Delhi Assembly elections, and the BJP has given instructions to the DERC to be in full preparation for this step. Kumar said that during the Congress rule, many works had been carried out in the unauthorised colonies, which included carpeting the roads with cement/concrete, constructing schools and hospitals, to provide all types of civic amenities to those living in the unauthorized colonies.
