The BJP has expressed confidence that its alliance with Telugu Desam Party will win majority of lok Sabha seats. “We will also come to power in Seemandhra and the result in Telangana will also surprise many,” said Prakash Javadekar, spokesperson of the BJP.
Addressing a Press conference in Hyderabad on Monday, Javadekar confidently declared that the NDA alliance is coming to power in the country with more than 300 seats in Parliament.
“We are going to win 55 lok Sabha seats in South India,” he said basing his assessment on the voting pattern in the 232 lok Sabha constituencies where polling has been completed so far. The BJP won 18 of the 129 seats in South India in 2009.
Javadekar also predicted that the seats of the UPA will come down to mere 15 this time compared to 85 of 2009 in South.
“Electorate are coming forward to vote out the Congress,” he said. People want a change and they want to give a decisive and stable mandate, he added.
Referring to the promises made by other parties including Telangana Rashtra Samiti, Javadekar said that fulfilling those promises will need hundreds of billions asking “from where they will bring this money. Only BJP can make development possible.”
Javadekar’s assertion of a merry TDP-BJP alliance came a day before party’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Telangana and address rallies at Karimnagar, Mahbubnagar, Nizamabad and Hyderabad.
