The Bihar BJP on Thursday finally suspended two of its party legislators for their anti-party activities. Both these leaders are expected to contest the upcoming lok Sabha poll on JD(U) ticket.
“We’ve suspended our two party MlAs Avanish Kumar Singh and Rana Gangeshwar Singh with immediate effect for their dissident activities”, said State party chief Mangal Pandey. The two suspended BJP MlAs for long have been making statements against the party leadership and were found to be involved in anti-party activities, said the State party chief. “The leadership was left with no other option but to suspend them from the party,” he added.
The two suspended BJP MlAs Avanish Kumar Singh and Rana Gangeshwar Singh from Chiraiya and Moiuddinnagar Assembly constituency reportedly were in touch with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and his party leaders for long and had earlier declared to contest the forthcoming lok Sabha polls. Earlier, they even had supported Kumar’s candidature for the prime ministerial post and had even dared party leadership to take disciplinary action against them.
“If I’ll get ticket from the JD(U) I’ll definitely contest the lok Sabha poll from Motihari,” said suspended BJP MlA Avanish Kumar Singh. Singh, though, have been praising Kumar and his Government for all the development work being done in the State. On his recent trip to Motihari, senior State BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi even had hinted that party would take stern action against Avanish Kumar Singh soon.
“All party workers are under constant observation for their any anti-party activities or actions which would not be in accordance with party ideology and discipline,” said Bihar BJP president Mangal Pandey. However, Rana Gangeshwar Singh, of late, had not passed any statement against the BJP or the party leadership but the party chose to take action against both of them, for, what they apparently have been hobnobbing with the ruling party JD(U), said the State BJP leaders.
Meanwhile, the ruling party JD(U) suffered a severe jolt when one of its party MlA from Maharajganj, Damodar Singh died of a cardiac arrest on Thursday morning. Now the Nitish Government which is running on a wafer thin majority after its divorce from the BJP in June last year, now has only 117 MlAs in the 243 members of the State Assembly.
