AAP MlA from Kondli Manoj Kumar has been booked for allegedly thrashing a BJP supporter in Mayur Vihar in the wee hours of Monday. On the other hand, the AAP MlA has also lodged an FIR against 26-year-old Kapil Nagar, a self-proclaimed BJP supporter. In his complaint to the Ghazipur police, Kapil, resident of GD Colony, Mayur Vihar (III), alleged that the MlA ‘hated’ him for supporting the BJP.
In his complaint, Kapil said on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday he had gone on a stroll after dinner to Block A of GD Colony, where the MlA resided, and met some acquaintances with whom he discussed the situation in Delhi.
“I am a BJP supporter. On that day when I raised slogans of Jai Sri Ram the local MlA Manoj Kumar came out with 3-4 accomplices and objected to it and started abusing me. When I tried to run away they stopped me and thrashed me,” he said in the complaint.
The MlA, who also lodged a complaint at Ghazipur police station, alleged that he was in his house in GD Colony when around 2 am he heard some noise and went out to enquire.
“Some four-five youngsters were creating noise by throwing stones at a shutter and when I objected to it they started running away. One of the youth fell down and when I helped him he started abusing me and pushed me as a result of which I fell down and received injury on my lips,” he said in his complaint.
Cops have registered FIRs on both the complaints and are in the process of investigating the charges, said a senior police official.
