Indicating possibility of early Assembly polls in Gujarat, CM Vijay Rupani said that Gujarat BJP was ready to contest polls anytime but the decision to go for early election or at its schedule would be taken by the party high command.
Till now the CM used to deny any possibility of early polls during interaction with the media. Talking about the rationale of having set up a target to win 150 of 182 Assembly seats in the forthcoming polls, Rupani said that it was based on ‘logic’.
“If you look at results of 2014 Parliamentary polls of UP, the BJP had won 73 of 80 Parliamentary seats. It was leading in over 300 Assembly segments. Similarly in 2014, BJP led in over 150 Assembly segments in Gujarat and won all the 26 lok Sabha seats in the State,” he added.
