After Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee it is the BJP’s turn to introduce the characteristic Hindi-heartland politics in Bengal.
The saffron outfit on Sunday promised 75 lakh jobs for the youth of the State should it come to power in 2021. In that pursuit the party on launched what its leaders called “job assurance card” which will be distributed
house to house in the coming days.
The card would bypass the official employment exchange procedures, sources said adding it was a private political initiative that would be fulfilled by the party when it came to come power next year.
The card would contain columns such as name, address, age, qualification, WhattsApp number etc and would be distributed in most households across 294 Assembly seats. The people would be asked to fill up the form and get themselves registered so as to merit an entry into the job market that would be created by the BJP after coming to power.
“The Mamata Banerjee Government has failed to provide jobs though she has repeatedly claimed that she has given 2 crore employment… the job assurance card will help us get the measure of employment in the State and the amount of jobs we will have to create for them,” BJP MP from Bishnupur Soumitra Khan himself a Trinamool turncoat said.
The card is likely to contain a slogan “Aar noi annyay… aar noi bekartotto (no more injustice … no more unemployment).”
Reacting to the job card lure, TMC spokesperson Kunal Ghosh said the BJP had come to power in Delhi with an assurance of providing crores of jobs but they have failed to do any justice about that.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi promised 2 crore yearly jobs before parliamentary elections but instead of providing jobs they are rationalizing
them … not only this they are privatizing the job-creating sectors like the Railways, BSNL, Coal India, selling away trains and laying off workers … and now they have come here to befool the people with job promises. Voters of Bengal are not fools. They are mature enough to see through their bluff … First ask the Prime Minister to fulfill his promise and then promise jobs in Bengal.”
Incidentally the ruling Trinamool Congress recently launched a programme to distribute progress report card that the party enlisting the development projects the Chief Minister has under taken in her past more than two decade in power.
