In his campaign tour at Bellary on Wednesday, BJP president Rajnath Singh blasted Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for calling Narendra Modi a mass murderer. Singh was campaigning for BJP’s Bellary candidate B Sriramulu, who recently merged his party BSR Congress with the BJP.
Singh said “Siddaramaiah should apologise for his remarks. I hope the Election Commission will take note of his statement and take action against him”.
Bellary is one of the constituencies in Karnataka which is watched keenly in the absence of Janardhana Reddy, who is languishing in jail over the mining scam. In fact there was stiff opposition from BJP’s senior leader Sushma Swaraj, who had made her opposition public against the entry of Sriramulu to the party.
Singh also said the priority of the future Government would be to control price raise and said the NDA government will have a mechanism to undo UPA wrong policies. He said Modi led government would bring back black money stashed in foreign banks.
Significantly BJP leader admitted that the 2002 Gujarat riots was unfortunate and said similar incidents have also happened under Congress ruled states. Singh listed out promises made by BJP about setting up of price stabilization fund, bridging demand and supply gap to contain inflation.
lingayat leader BS Yeddyurappa, senior leader and Bangalore south candidate HN Ananth Kumar have shared platform with Singh. BJP leader expressed confidence that 2009 performance would be repeated under Yeddyurappa’s leadership in Karnataka.
