'BJP preferred to lose but didn't compromise'

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi said that the BJP preferred to lose the power in Karnataka instead of compromising with its principles on the issue of corruption.

Modi told newspersons in Patna on Wednesday that his party made sacrifices and even paid the price for its uncompromising stand on corruption, losing the power in the southern State ultimately.

The party did not allow former Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa to head the Government in the State again once the corruption charges surfaced against him, he added.

He said that the BJP remained firm on its principles without even caring for any political consequences. The BJP central command and senior leaders will review results of Karnataka Assembly election very elaborately in the due course of time, he added.

The Deputy Chief Minister said that the Supreme Court’s observation on the misuse of CBI has served as an eye-opener. He said that the BJP will continue to expose the “corrupt practices” of the UPA Government and will overthrow it from the power by mobilising people against it.
