BJP potshot at ex-CM Mamata for inviting CJP to West Bengal

The BJP leadership has lampooned former Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for inviting Cockroach Janata Party leaders to organise the youth against the Suvendu Adhikari Government.

“Mamata Banerjee has taken the retirement advice from Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari in right earnest… the Chief Minister advised her to retire from politics… it seems that she has also decided to quit politics … which is why she is inviting the CJP to play the game on her behalf… this also proves that her party men are no longer behind her,” BJP MP Rahul Sinha said.

Banerjee has earlier invited CJP leaders, including Abhijeet Dipke, to Bengal and asked them to start a new movement in the State. “We acknowledge the contribution of the young generation in the present movement against the oppressive BJP Government…  they are the pioneers and founders of the present movement… the way they have organised and awakened the youth of the country — that we the leaders of the older generation couldn’t - is commendable… this is why I invited Abhijeet when I met her briefly in Delhi… he has also told me that he will come to Bengal at the first instance,” Banerjee said, giving all the credit to the CJP leaders.

The BJP incidentally held a massive rally in Kolkata under the banner “Loktantra Bachao, Arajakta Hatao” (Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy), which served as a counter-offensive against Sunday’s protest by the INDIA bloc over alleged corruption in the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. The march was led by Suvendu Adhikari, BJP national president Nitin Nabin.

“They have awakened the young generation and organised them against an undemocratic and corrupt Government which had been winning via ‘vote chori’ (electoral malpractices)… now this wave of discontent is irreversible… so they deserve a big salute,” the former Chief Minister said.

Ashutosh Ranka had already been working with the Left leadership in Bengal. Kalyan Banerjee, MP and another senior Trinamool Congress leader of the Mamata Banerjee faction, too commended the CJP leadership for turning a “lost game” in the favour of the Opposition. “We, the senior leaders, had failed before the money and muscle power of the BJP… they had literally pinned us down and almost destroyed the Indian democracy… I have no shame in conceding that the young generation showed us the way… they organised the entire youth of the country …they seem to have earned the credibility that the older generation of the political leadership failed to achieve,” Kalyan Banerjee said.
