BJP planning another ‘strike’ to win polls, says Bengal CM

In an insinuation linking Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s western frontier policy to upcoming general elections Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday warned there could be yet “another strike” before the stretched out electoral process could conclude.

She would not however expand the term “strike” saying, “I am not going into details of that strike and it is for you to assume what kind of strike it could be.”

She insisted the deliberately “prolonged electoral process would provide another opportunity to the NDA Government to go in for yet another strike,” so as influence the public mind, before “appealing to the right-thinking media who have not been coerced into submission to remain impartial and present the news in perspective.”

Banerjee who went all guns blazing against the Modi Government Banerjee said the dispensation that was loudly bragging about its patriotic fervor and alertness should first explain the theft of crucial documents pertaining to the Rafale aircraft deals.

“How can a Government which cannot secure its defence documents, will secure the country’s borders?” She asked wondering “what if they would have stolen any crucial strategic map for the purpose of the enemy.”

Banerjee was speaking at a Press conference moments before releasing the Trinamool Congress’ candidates’ list for the upcomingparliamentary elections. Vouching to throw Modi out of power she said “these elections we will hammer the last pin on his coffin” the Chief Minister tended to drop a short glimpse of her party’s election manifesto that could include employment, peace and Jammu & Kashmir among other things.

When asked as to whether she was sure of hammering out a solution for the terror-torn State Banerjee said “why not. If we can bring in peace in Darjeeling, if we can bring peace in Jangal Mahal once ruled by the Maoists why cannot we bring peace in Jammu and Kashmir. For finding a solution you have to deal with your heart. You have to extend love and not spared hatred in that State.”
