The Jharkhand BJP on Wednesday unanimously passed a political resolution highlighting initiatives undertaken under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for the dignity, protection, welfare and development of tribal communities in the state. The resolution was adopted at a meeting of party office-bearers, MPs and MLAs at the BJP state headquarters in the presence of state in-charge Gajendra Singh Patel.
State BJP president Aditya Sahu placed the resolution before the house, focusing on the dignity of tribal communities, their rich cultural traditions, historical legacy and development. Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi, former chief minister Arjun Munda, Union Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth and MLA Purnima Sahu supported the resolution. All members present endorsed it unanimously by raising their hands.
The meeting was conducted by state general secretary Amar Kumar Bauri, who is also the convenor of the party’s “Seva Evam Netritva” (Service and Leadership) programme.
Aditya Sahu said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had demonstrated a deep understanding of the hardships faced by the poor, deprived and tribal communities. He alleged that these sections had remained deprived of adequate access to basic amenities, education, healthcare and development opportunities for decades after Independence due to the neglect of previous governments.
Under Modi’s leadership, several initiatives had been taken to prioritise the dignity, rights and development of tribal communities, he said. Sahu added that serving the poor and disadvantaged was not merely a political slogan for Modi but a lifelong commitment.
He said Modi had remained dedicated to public service since assuming office as Gujarat chief minister in 2001, with a focus on ensuring that the benefits of development reached the last person in society.
Gajendra Singh Patel said the vision of a developed India could not be realised without the comprehensive development of Jharkhand. Describing the state as a land rich not only in natural resources but also in tribal culture, glorious traditions, struggles and sacrifices, he said tribal communities, the poor, disadvantaged sections and rural populations must become full participants in the development process.
Patel identified economic prosperity, social harmony, security and the preservation of cultural heritage as four key pillars of a developed India. He said Jharkhand must become economically prosperous, socially cohesive and secure while taking pride in its cultural legacy.
“Jharkhand’s development is not merely the development of one state; it is a foundation for a developed India,” he said, stressing the need to combine tribal pride with economic growth, social harmony, security and heritage conservation.
Babulal Marandi described Modi’s public life as an inspiring example of service, dedication and nation-building. He said the Prime Minister’s journey from Gujarat chief minister to the country’s highest executive office reflected a commitment to bringing positive changes to the lives of the poor, disadvantaged, farmers, youth and tribal communities. Marandi said the message of the Seva Sankalp campaign was that politics should be driven by service rather than the pursuit of power, with development reaching the last person in society.
