The BJP Parliamentary board will meet Thursday to welcome Amit Shah to a fresh term as party president following his election on Sunday.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and all other members of the party’s highest decision-making body are expected to attend the meeting, official sources said.
Shah was elected unopposed with many Union Ministers and virtually all party Chief Ministers and State presidents present at the headquarters in a show of support last Sunday.
Modi, who was among the leaders to have proposed Shah’s name for a new term, was not present on account of his officials engagements. Party veterans lK Advani and MM Joshi, who are members of ‘Margdarshak Mandal’, a non-functional party forum, had not come to party office to felicitate the BJP president. Shah met the two senior leaders later.
