BJP national president JP Nadda on Thursday set to rest the issue of partition of North Bengal saying his party did not want the State to be partitioned.
The BJP president in a meeting told the party leaders not to make comments on slicing of Bengal saying “the party does not support this view.”
Earlier a whole lot of MPs including John Burla, Jayanta Roy and Saumitra Khan had openly demanded partition of Bengal. While the first two MPs demanded separation of North Bengal from South Bengal Khan demanded partition of Rarh Bengal comprising the Jangal Mahal districts --- like Purulia and Bankura --- of the State.
