Bengal BJP MlA Samik Bhattacharya on Tuesday filed an FIR against former Supreme Court Judge Markandeya Katju for making uncouth and “abusive” remarks against Poet laureate Rabindranath Tagore and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.
The FIR filed by the MlA at the Jorasanko Police Station referred to a stated news report appearing in a Bengali daily where Tagore was allegedly referred to as a “puppet” in British hands and Bose as a “spy” of Japan.
“I am shocked with the comments of Mr. Katju which is nothing but communal sentiments against the Bengali people” the FIR read.
