The BJP-led “Maha-Yuti” is likely to announce its seat-sharing arrangement for the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls with its alliance partners – Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar-headed NCP—on Monday.
Chief Minister Eknath Shinde of the Shiv Sena, Deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar of the NCP and senior his party colleagues Praful Patel and Sunil Tatkare had held seat-sharing talks with Union Home Minister and senior BJP leader Amit Shah at the latter’s residence in New Delhi on Friday. However, the talks remained inconclusive. Informed sources in the BJP said on Sunday that the leaders of the “Maha-Yuti” would meet once again Monday.
Shah had made it clear to both Shinde and Pawar last week that the BJP would contest at least 32 out of 48 Lok Sabha seats, leaving the remaining collectively16 seats to the Shinde-led Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar-led NCP.
