As side effects of the outcome of the bypoll in Bihar which RJD won, a man was murdered in Darbhanga and pro-Pakistan slogans were raised in Araria. According to police an elderly person of the village Bhadaha in Darbhanga district was attacked with sword over a controversy on naming a village square after Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The deceased Ram Chandra Yadav’s son Tej Narayan Yadav is BJP president of Bahla panchayat. He had named the square as Narendra Modi chowk in December 2016 but the villagers of the Muslim dominated village had been opposing it and wanted to name it as lalu Prasad chowk. The issue was in the knowledge of police but it failed to settle it.
