The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday alleged that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is behind the riots in Punjab’s Patiala that took place on April 29.
The AAP spokesperson, Saurabh Bhardwaj said that the BJP is orchestrating riots all over India and Patiala riots are only a piece of BJP’s plan to destroy India’s social fabric.
“The latest evidence from this incident of Patiala violence has revealed one Barjinder Singh Parwana to be the ‘mastermind’ behind the Patiala flare-up. In the last couple of days, several photos and videos of Parwana have emerged, which have made it clear that he has been associated with the BJP and its leaders,” said Bhardwaj. “Parwana is the same man who made inflammatory speeches provoking violence ahead of the Patiala riots. He encouraged people to incite riot-like situations and enabled an environment for the violence and breakouts to thrive in,” said Bhardwaj.
“He is an extremist leader who is very closely connected to the BJP, the proof of which is also circulating on the internet, along with videos of BJP leaders openly defending and advocating for this man’s atrocities,’ said Bhardwaj.
