Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) general secretary Ram Madhav on Friday said that the party is contesting the Assembly polls in J&K to rid the State of dynastic rulers and form its first ever Government in the State.
Madhav once again invited separatists to join the mainstream politics clarifying the BJP was not going to join hands with separatists in the State.
He said the doors of the Prime Minister are open for all those who want to leave the path of separatism and join the mainstream politics.
On the occasion Minister of State, PMO Jitendra Singh released a four-page charge sheet against the Omar Abdullah led Government for failing to act on the warnings issued by the Meteorological Department about the ‘abnormally high rainfall’.
Singh claimed the Met warnings were constantly ignored by the J&K Government and its senior officials. He said the State Government remained in deep slumber and no steps were taken when the water level in Jhelum crossed danger mark before parts of Srinagar city were submerged.
Commenting on the mood in the party, Singh said the BJP is all set to launch an aggressive campaign from Saturday in the run up to the first phase of polling on November 25.
He said senior BJP Ministers including PM Narendra Modi would be addressing series of rallies in the region to woo the electorate with the promise of giving corruption free, responsive and people friendly Government in the State. The senior party leaders assured the people of the State that if voted to power the BJP would focus on all round development of the State.
