Hailing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s announcement creating 10 lakh jobs in next 18 months, the BJP on Tuesday said "this shows our Government's emphasis on job creation for our youth and focus on efficient management of workload," and dismissed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s criticism saying he should first provide the Enforcement Directorate (ED) “right answers” on the serious charges of corruption against him.
BJP president J P Nadda tweeted, "We are grateful to our PM @narendramodi for this new mission of recruiting 10 lakh people into different government departments and ministries in 1.5 years.
"This shows our Government's emphasis on job creation for our youth and focus on efficient management of workload.”
Describing it as a farsighted decision, Home Minister Amit Shah said this will make India's young population disciplined, skilled, fit and financially empowered so as to make them self-reliant.
Shah said, "The basis of new India is its youth power. To empower them, PM Modi is working continuously. PM Modi's directive to recruit 10 lakhs in a mission mode in all government departments and ministries in 1.5 years will bring new hope and confidence among the youth.
“Thank you PM @narendramodi for this, " he said.
In a sharp reaction to Rahul’s “maha jumla” response to job creation announcement, BJP leader and Union Minster of State for Finance Anurag Thakur said he should first provide the ED right answers on the serious charges of corruption against him.
Though everyone has welcomed Prime Minister's decision, taken in interest of youth, Rahul has expressed anger and questioned why the youth would get jobs, Thakur said.
"I would only say to Rahul ji, you should first provide the right answers to ED on the serious charges of corruption made against you so that you provide information during the two days of your questioning that is carrying on," the BJP leader told reporters.
"Rather than welcoming the decision, I think he is too busy dealing with other issues and unable to show his happiness towards this decision," he added.
Thanking Modi, Thakur said, "This is big news for the youth of the country." "We welcome this decision and have already started taking meetings with all ministries and departments so that this should be done at the earliest. The prime minister has set a deadline of 18 months so that these 10 lakh posts are filled," he said. eom
