BJP flays JD(U), launches rally on Nitish's home turf

Bihar BJP launched its fresh round of campaign against State Chief Minister Nitish Kumar by organising the “Vishwasghat Rally” (Betrayal Rally) on his home turf in Biharsharif on Thursday, seeking to send a clear-cut message to him that even his “very own” people want to see Modi as the next PM of the country.

A host of senior BJP leaders like BJP spokesperson Syed Shahnawaz Hussain, former Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, leader of Opposition in the Bihar Assembly Nand Kishore Prasad Yadav, all former BJP Ministers barring Ramadhar Singh, senior party leaders like Radhamohan Singh and Gopal Narayan Singh addressed the Vishwasghat Rally which is considered as the BJP’s most formidable attack in Nitish Kumar’s own backyard.

Braving a hot and humid weather condition, a large number of people attended the meeting for listening to the BJP leaders who one after another hit out at Kumar for allegedly betraying the people’s mandate by snapping JD(U)’s 17-year-old ties with the BJP.

The Narendra Modi (NaMo) chants rent the air as the people kept raising their hands in support of the Gujarat CM and Chairman of the BJP Election Campaign Committee.

The rally which virtually kickstarted the BJP’s electoral campaign is also considered as the party’s attempt to prepare stage before Narendra Modi addresses a rally in Patna on October 27.

The BJP is also making efforts to transport people to the rally from the villages dominated by Kumar’s Kurmi castemen.

BJP will hold anti-JD(U) mass meetings in all the 38 districts of the State in the next two months, informed State BJP president Mangal Pandey.

Shahnawaz Hussain asked to name any Mulsim leader whose name figures in the top 10 Ministers of his Cabinet. He said that Kumar now talks about secularism after breaking alliance with the BJP but he should not forget that the BJP is the same party which nominated Dr APJ Abdul Kalam for the post of the President.
