The Congress on Monday said the BJP has mastered the art of economic disasters by destroying the financial institutions, cutting down jobs, savings and economic growth. It also cited the “negative investments and crumbing exports” to back its allegations. “The only thing rising is inflation and deficit,” Congress spokesperson Abhishek Singhvi said.
“Common people, middle and lower middle class has been severely hit but BJP chief Amit Shah has reasoned technical reasons for the economic slowdown,” Singvhi said at AICC briefing. He said for the common people there is only one ‘Technical Reason’ and that is ‘The Complete Economic Mismanagement of the Modi Sarkar’.
“The Narendra Modi Government has reserved its place in the Economic History of India as a Government which squandered away all the gains of a thriving economy and reversed its ranking from the fastest growing large Economy to a sluggish, stagnating and a declining one,” he said.
“The Economy was growing but has been derailed for last three years due to absolute disastrous decisions taken by the Centre juts like the case of demonetisation. A good idea like the GST was translated into a flawed law that suffered from bad and hurried implementation, and affected many industries in the manufacturing sector,” he said.
The party alleged that BJP suffers from an age old habit of false bravado, empty rhetoric and loud boastfulness has shut its blinkered eyes to reality. “Amit Shah’s audacious claims placing Narendra Modi’s economic integration at the same pedestal as Sardar Patel’s political integration and Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar’s social integration are not only a contemptuous insult to our founding fathers but also a pathetic attempt to paint black into white,” he said.
