There was more political heat in Bengal after the BJP alleged “lack of courtesy” against the ruling Trinamool Congress which on Friday announced a two-day Dhikkar Diwas beginning August 11 when the saffron outfit president Amit Shah rally would address a rally in Kolkata.
“This is a deliberate attempt at creating disturbance by giving the Trinamool Congress goons a cause to attack the BJP workers when they would go to attend our party president Amit Shah’s rally in Kolkata,” State BJP chief Dilip Ghosh said on Friday wondering “is this was the kind of courtesy that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee always speaks about and expect s from the other parties.”
He added, “it seems that the Trinamool wants political disturbance in Bengal. In that context if any untoward incident happens in the State then the Trinamool Government will be held responsible.”
Earlier on Friday TMC general secretary Partho Chatterjee announced a 2-day Dhikkar Diwas (condemnation day) in Bengal against the “BJP’s nefarious designs to throw out the minority population from Assam in the name of preparing the National Register for Citizens.”
He said the “BJP in Assam is shamelessly using the NRC and the Supreme Court directive out of context to strike out the names of the citizens including lakhs of Bengalis and other people from the NRC.”
He added, “the TMC will protest against this dirty design by the BJP aimed at throwing out the minority population from Assam. We will observe August 11 and 12 as Dhikkar Diwas in every part of Bengal”.
