With little less than a week’s time remained for the first phase of much talked about Gujarat Assembly Polls, both the major political parties – BJP as well as Congress are expected to come out with their respective election manifesto in next 3-4 days.
Highly placed sources in the both political outfits say that it is high time to announce manifesto for their parties. A senior Gujarat BJP leader claimed that his party was banking on development poll plank and ruling the state over the past two decades, hence whether manifesto comes or not, people knew BJP’S development roadmap for the state very well. However he quickly added that manifesto would definitely come after the party high command would endorse it.
Gujarat BJP spokesperson Bharat Pandya said that manifesto was almost ready and would be released this week. Unlike Congress it would be based reality and facts, claimed Pandya.
Opposition Congress party is learnt to have worked really hard to prepare Gujarat Election Manifesto. The party which has been out of power over two and half decades would come out with lots of appealing promises that include cheaper education, health and housing facilities for poor and lower middleclass people.
Gujarat Congress spokesman Manish Doshi said that manifesto would come very soon and it would reveal his party’s pro-people approach. Convener of Congress party’s manifesto committee Dipak Babaria said that lots of hard work was put in by Congress leaders to prepare manifesto for 2017 Gujarat polls.
“Initially emphasis was given on grass root party workers and NGOs. However the Congress vice-president later on instructed to do it on the lines of a public hearing in which anybody could walk in and give suggestions. Congress leader and technocrat Sam Pitroda’s valuable suggestions too have been considered while preparing manifesto,’’ said Babaria, adding that it would reflect the road-map of the next Congress government in the state.
