BJP 'charge-sheets' UPA for 'dark decade' on Net

The BJP on Wednesday launched what it calls its “chargesheet” on the “dark decade of UPA’s malgovernance” with a website that attempts massive outreach through social media as the party prepares for 2014 general elections.

The party has sought public views on its new website http://www.india272.com to corner the Congress-led UPA-I and II Governments over its “failure” on several fronts and to highlight the scams like 2G, Coal block, AugustaWestland unearthed during the present regime. It also aims to gather views of people on issues like “corruption, inflation, failure of the Government, spread of terrorism and Maoism, unemployment and farmer suicides”.

The site address is self-explanatory given that 272 plus is the number of seats needed for a majority to form Government at the Centre. The party would hold ‘Jan Sampark’ in Mumbai on September 4, in lucknow on September 11, Bangalore on September 21 and Guwahati on September 28 to express its views which will also be included in the charge sheet.

The chargesheet Committee has been constituted under the aegis of the BJP Campaign Committee. In a joint statement, Deputy leaders of Opposition in Rajya Sabha and lok Sabha Ravi Shankar Prasad and Gopinath Munde said the BJP will as a team go to different parts of the country to elicit views from the common man at large. “We invite people of India to actively participate in this crowd sourcing exercise,” the statement said.

People can also access through www.Bjp.Org/

upachargesheet. The party also released other URls through which people using applications like telephone, Facebook, Twitter, powerpoint, Youtube and Flickr to access and provide inputs to the Opposition party in including their views in the chargesheet.
