Bharatiya Janata Party’s prime ministerial candidate and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said that National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will form the next Government at the Centre and party’s agenda is National Development Alliance.
While addressing Parivartan Rally, his first rally at Himachal Pradesh after becoming BJP’s PM candidate, Modi said, “Till now, you have seen the hollow promises of leaders but I have come with strong determination.”
Despite of bad weather conditions prevailing in the State for a couple of days, the BJP managed to mobilise crowd of over one lakh people, who cheered Modi with sloganeering during Parivartan Rally organised at Sujanpur Tira ground of Hamirpur district.
lashing out at UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Modi said, “Madam (Sonia Gandhi), you have sowed the seeds of poison and you are dividing the country. When NDA was in power, the then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee had always cultivated the seeds of love.”
“Madam (Sonia Gandhi) is questioning our ‘Statue of Unity’ project but the lok Sabha elections will be fought on unity,” added Modi.
Referring to Telangana’s issue, Modi said, “During NDA’s tenure, Chhattisgarh was carved out of Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand was carved out of Bihar and Uttarakhand was carved out of Uttar Pradesh and sweets were distributed in carved out States and their mother States.”
“look, what is happening in the Telangana issue. Andhra Pradesh is burning and people are on the streets, real brothers are fighting with each other for their rights,” added Modi.
Talking about corruption, Modi said, “For whom should I be corruptIJ I have no family. This mind and body is totally devoted to the nation.” If BJP comes to power, the black money stashed in foreign banks will be brought back and the Government employees or the salaried people, who pay tax regularly, will be rewarded for their honesty, he added.
“Why should the honest people be a deprived lot while the corrupt people are a privileged lotIJ” questioned BJP’s prime ministerial candidate.
Taking about Congress-led UPA Government’s failure to check corruption, Modi said, “Congress asked how many BJP leaders are in jailIJ But I want to them to first see what their Telecom Ministers did. The root cause of corruption is the Congress. Black money stashed abroad belongs to the people of India. However, Congress has always developed cold feet on the issue.”
Expressing concerns on political untouchability, he said strange environment is prevailing in this democratic country. “Since I started talking about tea vendors, some people are getting irritated even, over the mention of tea. One Communist Minister from Kerala praised me, he was removed and then, another Minister met me and he was taken to the task,” added Modi.
He also announced that if the BJP is voted to power, then all the Himalayan States from Jammu & Kashmir to the North-East, irrespective of the party ruling them will have special plans for development. Each and every problem concerning these States will be dealt with specifically.
