Once again a BJP supporter was found dead in mysterious circumstances at Naranga Dighi village at Pingla, West Midnapore, sources said.
Pintu Manna (19), a reported BJP supporter, was on Monday found hanging from a tree near his house on Sunday morning, sources said. The incident happened at Narangdighi area of Pingla. The body of the boy had been sent for autopsy, police said.
The BJP later alleged a Trinamool Congress hand in the death of the person. “He (victim) had gone to his uncle’s house where he had gone to have his dinner. But he did not return till late in the night. At around 11 pm, a local, who was passing by the area, saw a body hanging from the tree. When police came, we found out that it was him,” a relative of Manna said, adding suspecting TMC hand in the killing.
However, Sheikh Sabrati, TMC's Pingla block president said he had committed suicide alleging the BJP was trying to add political colour to the incident. The BJP claims to have lost scores of supporters to political violence in the past couple of years.
