The JAP headed by RJD’s expelled MP Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav is keeping its doors ajar for all the sulking ticket aspirants and sitting MlAs of various parties who have been dropped by their respective parties. In other words, JAP has become the favourite destination of such people and they are joining it in big numbers.
Almost everyday sitting MlAs of RJD and JD (U) who apprehend they might not be re-nominated due to distribution of seats or rejection of their claim have made their way to JAP. Interesting enough, the two allies have not made their lists of candidates public yet fearing revolt like situation.
An elated Pappu Yadav on Tuesday extended public invitation to sulking RJD leader and vice president Raghubansh Prasad Singh to come and head the JAP. “We are ready to work under the able guidance of senior leader,” he said and also invited another sulking RJD MP and former Union Minister Mohammad Taslimuddin to quit lalu and join JAP.
Pappu announced full support to Bhagwan Singh Kushwaha, Raghvendra Pratap Singh and Ajay Kumar Bulganin, all of RJD, in their bid to fight polls. JD (U) MlA from Dumraon Daud Ali joined the JAP since he apprehended that his seat would be given to Dadan Singh Pehalwan who joined the JD(U) a couple of days back.
Pappu alleged that tickets seekers were being extorted by lalu and his two sons in lieu of ticket and said Raghubansh Singh also knew this.
Meanwhile, senior BJP leader and former Minister Chandra Mohan Rai on Tuesday resigned from the party and accused BJP’s top leader Sushil Kumar Modi for being neglected in the party. Rai, a sitting MlA, has been denied ticket from Chanpatia. Rai praised CM Nitish Kumar under who he served as Health Minister and said he was still the most popular leader.
RJD MlA Raghvendra Pratap Singh accused party supremo lalu Prasad of having underhand dealing with the BJP and said he was putting up dummy candidates everywhere to help the NDA.
There is no dearth of senior politicians who have accused top leadership of their parties for selling tickets to rich aspirants. RJD’s national general secretary Bhagwan Singh Kushwaha said, “lalu sold tickets in Gaya, Jehanabad, Shahabad and Aurangabad to sand mafia.” Similar allegations have been levelled by aspirants of tickets in BJP, lJP, JD(U), RlSP and the Congress.
Senior Congress leader and former State president Ram Jatan Sinha complained against BPCC president Ashok Chaudhary and AICC Bihar in-charge C P Joshi to AICC vice president Rahul Gandhi when he arrived here en-route Champaran on Friday that money was changing hands for distribution of tickets. BPCC general secretary Vinod Sharma wrote letter to AICC president Sonia Gandhi making the charge of selling ticket and demanded a high-level committee to probe his charges. He further alleged that during last lok Sabha polls too the duo had sold the tickets and said he would be ready for any consequences if his charges were proved wrong.
Reacting to the charges of the sale of tickets, lalu said such allegations were made in each election. The ticket aspirants are crazy people. “Each party is flooded with ticket seekers and no party could give tickets to all of them. I have told the ticket seekers in my party they are free to go anywhere,” he said.
