Bihar BJP leaders cut cakes and performed yagna and puja on Tuesday to celebrate 64th birthday of party’s PM candidate Narendra Modi. leaders of both BJP and JD(U) also engaged in war of words over the birthday celebrations.
Early in the day, two of State BJP leaders Giriraj Singh and Sanjay Paswan visited a local temple and performed a special puja amid chanting of vedic hymns and mantras for the well being of their party’s PM nominee. They also cut cakes to celebrate the occasion.
later, a large number of party leaders and workers assembled at the State party headquarters and cut cake on the occasion. The party leaders Ashwani Choubey, Giriraj Singh, Nitin Navin, Ashok Bhatt and others were present on the occasion to wish their party leader.
The party headquarters was decorated with colourful posters and banners carrying bold pictures of party stalwarts Narendra Modi and Atal Bihari Vajpayee. However, party patriarch lK Advani was conspicuously missing from the poster frame.
Though, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar preferred to keep mum on the question of wishing Narendra Modi on his birthday but BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi tweeted again to say “it’s a happy coincidence that Narendra Modi’s birthday falls on the Vishwakarma puja...Modi will be the maker of modern India”.
Another senior State BJP leader Nand Kishore Yadav, unfortunately, got fire cracker injuries while celebrating the birthday at Patna City.
However, leaders of both the BJP and the JD(U) engaged in war of words even on Modi’s birthday celebrations.
Taking a dig at puja and yagna to mark the occasion, the JD(U) leader and Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh said that it was very unfortunate that now leaders wished to become Prime Minister by performing puja-path and havan.
“Puja-path karne se koi Pradhan Mantri nahi banta hai…aaj koi sewa nahi karna chata..rajniti nahi karna chahta balki puja aur yagna se PM banana chahta hai..yeh unfortunate hai”, reacted Narendra Singh who on Monday had stunned everyone saying Modi has lost his mental balance and should be sent to hospital.
The State BJP leaders promptly reacted over JD(U) leaders’ comments and said performing traditional rituals of puja they would perish all the evil powers coming in the way of Narendra Modi.
