An 18-year-old girl from West Bengal has been found hanging from a ceiling fan of a guest house room in Ballimaran area of Central Delhi, police said on Thursday.
The girl along with a male companion had checked into the guest house by faking their identities on Monday. The incident came to light on Wednesday, around 9.20 pm when guest house authorities informed police that occupants of room number 403 had not been responding to calls by the hotel staff. “A police team rushed to the spot and broke open the door only to find the body of the girl hanging from the ceiling fan. Her male companion was found missing,” an official said.
Police later found their Aadhar cards. “The deceased has been identified as Ritu Saha (18) from Cooch Behar and the man has been identified as Bijoy Roy from Murshidabad,” said official.
