A fuming band of Bengal BJP leaders on Wednesday recommended “Badla” (a tooth for a tooth) in the wake of the bloody attack by alleged Trinamool Congress men on party MP Khagen Murmu at Nagrakata in North Bengal, where he had gone to distribute flood relief on Tuesday.
“We find that not a single person has been arrested after the brutal attack on our MP Khagen Murmu and the Chief Whip of the Party in the State Assembly Shankar Ghosh. We want the police to arrest the culprits
immediately, and if they fail to do so, then we will ask our men to prepare for Badla. Now the TMC will face beating for a beating,” Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar said.
Majumdar also said that soon, some senior Bengal IPS officers would be summoned by the Lok Sabha Speaker. “DGP Rajiv Kumar and SP of Jalpaiguri will soon have to appear in the office of the Speaker in Lok Sabha where they will explain their conduct, as to why no person could be arrested even after more than 24 hours of the attack.”
Majumdar was echoed by State Opposition Leader Suvendu Adhikari, who too recommended the same “panacea for the TMC goons who attacked Khagen Babu.”
He said, “I ask the BJP workers to remember all that is being done to them for future, when we come to power, and we definitely coming to power this time round, it is a matter of just a few months, thereafter we will make them pay for every drop of blood they have shed there will be Badal (change of power) and Badla (revenge) both after 2026.”
Adhikari, who earlier visited Murmu at a private hospital, said that bones beneath his eyes have been fractured under the impact of a stone.
“This will not be spared, we are keeping a count of this, and I can vouch for the identity of the attackers who belong to the same specific community that had attacked our leaders in Cooch Behar,” Adhikari said adding “these attackers are directly connected to Jamat ul Mujahideen Bangladesh and Ansarulla Bangla, this is the reason why we are repeatedly asking for a NIA or CBI investigation into the attacks.”
