Bareilly tense over hate posters

Published on:

Tension prevails in Jiyangla hamlet, about 60 kilometers away from Bareilly district head-quarters after some mischief mongers put posters threatening members of a particular community to leave the village or be ready to face the consequences.

The poster was released in the name of Bharatiya Janta Party's Member of Parliament. The local cops get a case registered in the matter against unknown miscreants and were so far grilling some local youths who were engaged in printing or Photostat business. However, so far no breakthrough has been made.

Reports said that in the beginning of this week, people living in Jiyangla hamlet in outskirts of Bareilly district were shocked when they found several posters having hate message “Uttar Pradesh may Bhajpa ki sarkar aa gaye hai, ab gaon ke hindu wahi karengay ju America ke rastrapati Donald trump ne apne desh may musalmanu ke saath kiya hai” (BJP is in power in UP, so Hindu will do the same what Donald Trump do with Muslims in America) pasted on walls in the locality. The minority community members were further threatened in the poster asking to leave the area by the end of this year or be ready to face the music.

Reports said that when the local Pradhan noticed of the mischief, he immediately informed about it to local police after which the cops along with senior officers including SP (rural) Yamuna Prasad reached the spot. The cops and local villagers first removed the posters and later on complaint, registered a case against unknown persons. The cops also picked up five of the suspects, engaged in printing or Photostat business but so far the cops failed to get any lead which could helped them to trace out the miscreants.

The local BJP leaders also claimed that someone just made a mischief to disturb harmony in the area and to defame the party by putting the name of party's MP. Further investigations are on and heavy police force is patrolling in the area.
