With local court on Thursday granted bail to three brothers accused in the Badaun cousin sisters rape-murder case, now all the five named in the FIR were out on bail. The POSCO court of ADJ- 6 Anil Kumar, accepted the bail of the three brothers Pappu, Awadhesh and Urvesh Yadav on certain conditions. Now all the five accused in the case have been granted bail as the CBI failed to file the charge-sheets in the stipulated 90
days time. Earlier two police constables— Sarvesh Yadav and Chatrapal Gangwar were granted bail by the same court on last Monday. All the accused were given bail on the condition after giving a person bond of Rs 2 lakhs each. The court has also asked the accused to give a written undertaking that they will appear in the court if any evidence is found against them and they will not interfere the probe or influence the witness. CBI had already indicated earlier that they will not oppose the bail plea of the five accused. The Hyderabad-based Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics (CDFD) had already ruled out sexual assault on the teenage girls whose bodies were found hanging from a tree in May 27. The CBI sources said they were not ruling out honour killing angle and the family members who underwent lie-detector test arein the suspicion list of the agency. Sources in the CBI had also said that the agency would not exhume the bodies now as the report from CDFD had given them enough forensic evidence which could help them crack the case.
The two cousin sisters, aged 14 and 15, were found hanging from a tree in Badaun district on May 27 last, an incident which sparked national outrage with the Samajwadi Party government in the state coming under fire on the issue of law and order situation.
