When the country is talking in one voice about restoring pride of the Indian diplomat who was illtreated in the US, State Minorities Welfare and Urban Development Minister Mohammad Azam Khan has asked Devyani Khobragade to contest the next lok Sabha election from Rampur on Samajwadi Party ticket.
“The Indian diplomat can resign from her job and contest the coming lS polls from Rampur in UP as after becoming a member of Parliament she can strongly raise her voice against the US,’’ Khan said in a statement issued on Thursday.
Criticising the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Vishwa Hindu Parishad for keeping silent on the issue, Khan said these parties were never concerned with the insult of a woman and a diplomat.
