Auto driver blames Patel agitation for his daughter's death

Ayub Patel, an auto rickshaw driver from a small town Bharuch in Central Gujarat filed a police complaint against unidentified people for blocking highways during the violence that erupted post the Maha Kranti Rally of the Patel community in the last week of August that, he alleged, led to his daughter’s death.

According to the complainant, because of the highway blockage he lost his ailing 18-year-old daughter as he couldn’t take her to hospital in time. On August 26, Ayub Patel was taking his critically-ill daughter Taslima in an ambulance to SSG Hospital at Vadodara but because of the bandh call given by Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti, the ambulance couldn’t reach the hospital in time.

The police has registered a case under Section 283, 341 and 304(A) of IPC against the unidentified mob and started investigation.
