Accusing BJP-PDP alliance Government of running one of the most corrupt Governments in the State, National Conference MlA from Nagrota Assembly constituency, Devendra Singh Rana on Tuesday demanded an inquiry commission with a mandate to audit various Centrally-sponsored schemes implemented in the State.

National Conference MlA raised this demand immediately after boycotting review meeting of the District Development Board, Jammu.

The meeting chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh had earlier witnessed fire works in the beginning following duel between the two over poor implementation of various Government schemes.

Addressing a Press conference at party headquarters, NC MlA DS Rana told reporters, “I appeal to the Prime Minister and Union Home Minister to immediately order an inquiry commission and conduct special audit through secretaries of Government of India of various Centrally-sponsored Government schemes”.

Rana alleged as per general perception corruption is at its peak and it becomes necessary to check whether money which is being sent from New Delhi is utilised properly on ground zero or it is being used to fill the coffers of those who are in power in the State.

He even listed several examples where the State Government had failed to give him satisfactory replies in response to issues raised by him during the previous board meeting held in March 2017.

Rana also taunted senior BJP Ministers by saying they may have been claiming ‘Ache din aaye hain’ but harsh reality in public perception is ‘yeh corruption ke din aaye hain’.

Rana alleged BJP Ministers have dumped the slogan of ‘sabka saath sabka vikas’ and coined a new slogan ‘apna saath apna vikas’.

Rana also levelled allegations against the deputy Chief Minister for failing to  deliver on the promises made to the people who voted them to power across Jammu region.

launching a scathing attack on deputy Chief Minister, also holding the charge of Urban and Housing development department, during a press conference DS Rana said the Smart City project is a bigger scam.

"The way it has been conceived and planned I want to bring it on record and say with authority all the money will go waste. It will be a den of corruption".

"Instead of planning  a new SMART city the State Government is haphazardly constructing parking lots".

He said there are certain norms of building a Smart City but the same have been violated.

Responding to a question what prompted him to boycott the review meeting, Rana clarified when Deputy commissioner Jammu was presenting a status report on Roads sector he informed the members in the meeting that against a target of completing 509 kms of road macdamisation work for 2017-2018 only 50 per cent macdamisation work has been completed.

Rana said when Deputy CM directed the Chief Engineer Roads and Buildings department to focus on VIP road outside his official residence connecting circuit house  i intervened and raised the issue of expediting work on rural and periphery roads in Jammu district. Rana said instead of responding Deputy Chief Minister accused me of playing politics. "I was not playing any politics. I only shared my serious concern over poor pace of work as all of us know it is not possible to carry out macdamisation work after November 15. Rana claimed BJP Ministers in the State lack calibre to run the Government.

"They don't deserve to be at the places where they are. He said we will not sit silent and allow them to go scot free. "We will fight to fix their accountability". He also warned State Government officers against violating service conduct rules and becoming stooges of BJP.
