Assam police arrests 'most wanted' accused from WB village

A team of Assam police in association with their counterparts West Bengal on Wednesday arrested president of Nikhil Bharat Bengali Udbastu Samannay Samiti, Subodh Biswas—the mastermind behind the attack and vandalism of an All Assam Students’ Union (Aasi) office in Dhemaji district earlier this month—from a remote village in Indo-Bangladesh border in West Bengal.

Biswas, who had allegedly incited a mob on March 6 to attack and vandalise the Aasu office at Silapathar in Dhemaji district, was declared as ‘most wanted’ after he went missing. The police said that Biswas is being brought back to Assam for trial.
