Anti-incumbency getting stronger in Athagarh

Published on:

As the poll day comes closer, the public support is increasingly going in favour of the BJP in the Athagarh Assembly constituency. Political observers say BJP nominee Biswasundar Mishra may pull down the BJD forte of long-time MlA Ranendra Pratap Swain.

As the Modi wave is tremendously sweeping through the State, the voters’ mood is changing fast. They want to send a new face to the Assembly. Besides, in terms of personality, BJP’s Mishra is better accepted than Swain. To add to the worry of Swain, anti-incumbency factor is strong here.

long time rule by Swain has led to corruption and bad governance. As a result, the voters look fed up with him and want to choose a new and more dynamic leader.Congress’s Bichitrananda Muduli has also stepped up his campaigning. His advantage is that cine actor Aparajita Mohanty is contesting from Cuttack lok Sabha seat. He has managed to bask in her charisma.
