Another plaint against Speaker's predecessor

Close on the heels of the controversy over appointment of two of the son-in-laws of State Assembly Speaker Mata Prasad Pandey, fresh controversy arose when the social activists made similar charges against former Speaker of the same House.

Social activist, Nutan Thakur, on Friday sent another complaint to the Governor in which she levelled similar allegations against Mata Prasad’s predecessor, Sukhdeo Rajbhar for appointing his son-in-law. Thakur said that just like Pandey appointing his elder son-in-law Pradeep Kumar Pandey on post of Editor and younger son-in-law Narendra Shankar Pandey on post of OSD in a clandestine manner without adopting the due process despite lacking the minimum qualifications, Rajbhar appointed his son-in-law Rajesh Kumar as Research and Reference officer. Interestingly, according to Thakur, Rajesh appointed to this post once resigned on 03 March, 2009 on getting some other Government service after which the then Minister Babu Singh Kushwaha’s nephew Balram Singh was appointed to this post on 31 December, 2009. Rajesh did not find the other job interesting and hence was again taken back as Research officer on 29 January 2010. None of these appointments were made in accordance with the required process and procedure and hence Dr Thakur has requested enquiry in these matters as well.
