Another feather in MEIl's cap

Hyderabad-based infra major Megha Engineering & Infrastructures ltd (MEIl) has completed a major lift irrigation project near Muchumarri as part of the Handri-Niva Sujala Sravanthi (HNSS) project on Krishna River bank in a record time. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will dedicate this scheme to the nation on Friday.

This scheme will irrigate 6.025 lakh acres of farmlands and provide drinking water to 33 lakh people in Kurnool, Kadapah, Chittor, and Anantapur districts of Rayalseema.

This lift irrigation scheme will carry 40 TMC of backwaters from Srisailam reservoir. In various stages, this water will be lifted to a height of 203 metres and will be carried through 8 reservoirs. As part of this scheme, MEIl has set up pumps and motors with a total capacity of 3.7 MW capacity.

MEIl has already proved its mettle by merging the two mighty rivers of Andhra Pradesh — Godavari and Krishna, through the Pattisam project, which was completed before the stipulated time period of one year. This feat was duly recognided and detailed in the limca Book of Records.

The Government has recently announced that in the last three years, the Pattisam Project has diverted almost 100 TMC of floodwater from being drained into the ocean.

In 2017, the CM has already inaugurated the first scheme near Muchumarri (KC Canal). This scheme was also executed by MEIl. On the 15th of last month, Independence Day, our CM inaugurated the Purushottapatnam lift Irrigation Project near Purushottapatnam village in East Godavari district. Despite facing various obstacles, MEIl executed this project in a record time.

MEIl has taken another leap forward by linking Godavari and Krishna rivers through Pattisam project, and thereby partnered in diverting Godavari water to Yeleru reservoir. In the past, MEIl has already completed the Handri-Niva Sujala Sravanthi (HNSS) project. This project has been effectively operational for the last four years.
