With cops still struggling to make any breakthrough in the alleged gang-rape and murder of an unknown girl whose body was recovered in Bahedi locality of Bareilly on last Saturday, body of yet another girl recovered in Unnao. She was suspected to be gang-raped before being burnt alive by the accused. It may be mentioned here that in Bareilly incident also, the accused burnt the face to conceal the identity of the victim.
Reports said that Ram Naresh, pradhan of village Chanderkhera under Asoha Police Station in Unnao, informed the local police that they saw a body of an unknown girl lying on Zorawar road, adjacent to Bedinali forest area, on Wednesday morning.
The victim seems to be sexually assaulted before being killed and the accused also tried to burn her alive to conceal the crime. Her body was recovered with almost hundred per cent burn injuries. local police which rushed to the spot and sent the body for post-mortem, claimed that they were waiting for autopsy report to confirm whether the girl was gang-raped or not at they suspected that it could be a case of honour killing also.
Meanwhile, the State police continue to fail to check crimes against members of fairer sex as more cases of rapes and attacks on girls have been reported during last 24-hours. In the first case reported at Kasganj, a case for rape was lodged after 18 days of sexual assault with a minor girl in Ganjdundwara area. The victim, aged 12 years, had gone to fields on the nature’s call, when some unknown miscreants nabbed and raped her. Surprisingly, the local police refused to register a case and the FIR was registered only after the intervention of Superintendent of Police Vinay Yadav.
