Anil joining BJP a painful, wrong move, says dad AK Antony

The decision of Anil Antony to join the BJP was a painful and wrong move, according to A K Antony, former’s father and the senior most Congress leader in the country. “This is my first and last reaction to Anil joining the BJP. I do not have any role in his decision.

He has made the biggest mistake in his life and I will not answer any queries regarding his action,” said Antony while speaking to reporters at Thiruvananthapuram on Thursday.

Antony charged that the BJP is a threat to the unity and diversity of India as the party was working to destroy the plurality of India. “My loyalty and obeisance is always with the Nehru-Gandhi family.

This family was always in the forefront in upholding the Constitutional values of the country. Ill continue my servility with the Nehru-Gandhi family and die as a Congressman,” said the 82-year-old leader.

He made it unambiguously clear that Anil was on his own and the forner does not have anything to do with him. Elsewhere in the State senior Congress leaders came out in the open condemning  Anil Antony’s move to cast his lot with the BJP.

“Anil’s move to join the BJP would not make any impact in Kerala politics. Prime Minister Narendra Modi does not know the ground realities in Kerala. People of the State would give a befitting lesson to the Prime Minister in the 2024 Lok Sabha poll,” said Ramesh Chennithala.
