Andhra CM fuels anti-T fire

Published on:

With the political situation in a complete flux, Andhra Pradesh administration remained paralysed on Friday thanks to 19-day-old strike of the Government employees against Telangana State. Adding to the political volatility, Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy publicly vented his ire against the Congress decision to divide the State. Addressing a gathering of Telugu language and literature lovers in Hyderabad, the Chief Minister said that anybody who does not pay heed to the wishes of the people will be rejected and thrown out by them.

In an apparent warning to the Congress leadership, he said, “The Governments and the parties who acted against the wishes of the people were dumped.” The CM said that he would take tough decision at appropriate time in accordance with the wishes of the Telugu people. He added that the aspirations of the Telugu people were the main criteria for him. This outburst has sparked fresh speculation that Kiran Kumar Reddy may resign as the CM and refuse to move a resolution in the State Assembly for formation of Telangana.
