The day after the Karnataka Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) lodged an FIR after the Forensic Science laboratory gave a report confirming the voice samples that of BJP leaders Ananth Kumar and BS Yeddyurappa purportedly speaking about payments made to the high command, the Union Minister HN Ananth Kumar questioned the FSl report and blasted ruling Congress Government in the State for vendetta politics.
Addressing a press conference in Bengaluru on Monday BJP leader questioned the credibility of the FSl report which was given in a hurry. He said that the way they are conducting FSl report is “questionable”.
He said the video was “doctored” and the findings “politically motivated”. He said there is no question of “fearing or bowing” to it. Quoting the FSl report, he said the voice comparison analysis has not been done in cyber forensic section and hence all the articles were transferred to Physics section. “That means without doing electronic cyber comparison they have given this report,” he added.
“From day one I’m urging and my colleague and our leader Yeddyurappa has been urging that if at all you have to put forth the conversation between us, please put forth it in full, because it was not a conversation of few seconds,” as he called the video “doctored”.
Highlighting speedy investigations in cases related to political opponents, he questioned as to how many complaints registered against Siddaramaiah and his cabinet colleagues in Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) are being fast tracked. Expressing his faith in judiciary and the constitution, he called Siddaramaiah “dictatorial” and said there is “undeclared emergency” like situation in Karnataka. BJP State president Yeddyurappa even though accepted that they discussed and confirmed the voice, but demanded the Government to release the full video. He said “We are not denying that we discussed the matter. There is no doubt about it. let the Congress come out with the full clip of the conversation and the truth will be out”. “let them bring 100 such cases. I have the strength to face them. The Congress-led State Government is misusing agencies like the Anti-Corruption Bureau and the police to file such cases. There are 52 complaints lodged against the Congress leaders. Why hasn’t the ACB taken up the FIR in even one of them,” said Yeddyurappa.
Meanwhile, the Congress in New Delhi had released a video clip of a purported conversation between Yeddyurappa and Kumar on February 12, claiming that both the leaders were admitting to having given money to their central leadership when in power. In the video, the two leaders had also during the banter purportedly talked about the diary entry of a Congress legislator about alleged payment of Rs 1,000 crore to higher-ups his party and keeping the issue alive politically.
