The controversial Mokama JD(U) MlA and a face of terror in his area Anant Singh has been sent to 15 days judicial remand once again in a case of murder. Singh had been arrested last week in connection with a kidnapping and murder committed in November last year. The two-term MlA rich in firepower has accused RJD supremo lalu Prasad for his arrest.
Talking to reporters during a court appearance Anant said it was because of the fight between lalu and Madhepura MP Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav over Yadav vote bank that he has been implicated ‘falsely.’ “lalu is scared of Pappu and thought the MP could influence Yadav votes in Barh so lalu targeted me and ensured that I am jailed. lalu is very pareshan (worried) and bechain (restless) person,” Singh alleged.
Calling lalu’s two sons ‘brainless,’ the jailed MlA said Pappu was his right hand but since he was no longer with lalu, the RJD boss was afraid that he would cut into his vote bank. Singh, however, refused to say anything against Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
After Singh’s arrest, another JD(U) MlA Sunil Pandey is under police watch for his alleged link to a professional killer who had allegedly been given supari for the murder of UP don and MlA Mukhtar Ansari, currently lodged in Agra jail.
A notorious criminal lambu Sharma, who had escaped from Ara civil court premises a few months ago after a bomb explosion in which a woman, believed to be bomb carrier, and a cop were killed, after his arrest from Delhi last week had revealed that Tarari JD(U) MlA Pandey had helped him to escape and he was given supari to eliminate Ansari. Sharma has also named one jailbird Chand Miyan, who was once in the gang of Ansari but parted ways later on. ADG Police (headquarter) Sunil Kumar said the police was probing the statement of Sharma and if needed, action will be taken against Pandey. The police official said that the Delhi Police have provided Sharma’s statement to Bhojpur police which was being investigated by Bhojpur SP.
After this revelation the JD(U) MlA called on Bhojpur SP and alleged that some vested interest were trying to implicate him for political reasons. Pandey said Sharma and Chand Miyan were associates and that he had nothing to do with either of them. Pandey is accused in other criminal cases too.
Bhojpur SP Navinchandra Jha himself interrogated Sharma during his police remand. Sharma reportedly supported his statement before the Delhi police on June 23 and restated that the Taraari MlA had helped him in escaping from the court during deposition and Chand Miyan, who has now joined the gang of another UP don and Ansari’s rival Brajesh Singh, gave him supari to eliminate Ansari for which he was promised Rs 50 lakh. Sharma also did a recce in Agra jail and met Mau MlA Ansari.
