Amit Shah to visit Bengal on July 7

BJP national president Amit Shah will visit Bengal on July 7 when he will launch the party’s Maha-Sampark Abhiyan in four eastern States of Bengal, Odisha Assam and Jharkhand.

Informing that the party had already attained a membership of 65 lakh and was targeting one crore mark State BJP leadership said that Shah’s visit would provide a major fillip to membership drive. The party had polled little more than 16 percent vote in Bengal in last year’s general elections. However, the vote percentage dipped somewhat in the recently concluded civic elections apparently at the face of massive violence and rigging by the ruling Trinamool Congress.

Shah who would be accompanied by party general secretary in charge of organization Ram lal would also discuss membership drive with the leaders of other eastern States.
